Overdose Follow-up Programs in Washington

The webinar “Overdose Follow-up Interventions: After Naloxone, What’s Next?” is now available from the Stopoverdose.org, both the slides and recording. In the recording, the slides aren’t synced to what’s being said for the first five minutes of the webinar, but it improves after that.

There is also new content for first responders about “Leave Behind” Naloxone, highlighting Tacoma Fire Department’s new program.

Tacoma Fire Department’s staff training video for the program is available here.

Opioid Addiction: A Chronic Disease - Brochure for AI/AN Communities

http://ctndisseminationlibrary.org/ctnbulletin/images/opioidbrochureaian.gifIn response to the current national opioid epidemic affecting the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) families, collaborators from NIDA, NIAAA, IHS, NIDA research grantees, and health providers in AI/AN communities met in May 2017 to identify issues associated with opioid misuse in Native communities.
In response, this full-color prevention brochure, Opioid Addiction: A Chronic Disease, was developed to provide information for AI/AN communities about what opioids are, what effects they have on the body, and what treatment options are available for opioid use disorder.

Download the PDF. For high quality printed copies, contact Carmen Rosa at crosa@nida.nih.gov.

Related: This group also developed a prevention poster aimed at pregnant AI/AN women who are concerned about their opioid use. More information | Downloadable PDF
