NAADAC NW Regional Conference, May 31-Jun 2, Portland, OR

NAADAC, the Association of Addiction Professionals, will host a 3-day regional conference in Portland, Oregon, from Thursday, May 31 through Saturday, June 2, 2018, with the theme "Exploring Treatment Alternatives."

The NW Addiction Technology Transfer Center (NWATTC), at ADAI, is a partner in planning this event along with NAADAC affiliate organizations in the Northwest region. Keynote speakers include Denna Vandersloot, NWATTC Co-Director, Darryl Inaba, author of the popular book Uppers Downers, All Arounders, and Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, NAADAC Executive Director.

The intended audience for this event is NAADAC members, chemical dependency professionals and others, with special emphasis on the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

Training for Dentists on Evidence-based Dental Pain Care

Two half-day trainings for dentists will address new Opioid Prescribing Guidelines for Washington State.  Participants will learn about the latest recommendations for acute dental pain care, best practices for managing acute dental pain in patients with substance use disorder, emerging federal and state policies on opioids, clinical pearls in opioid prescribing from your peers and more. The trainings are sponsored by the Dept. of Social & Health Services, Labor and Industries, Agency Medical Directors’ Group (AMDG), and The Bree Collaborative.

Spokane: Northern Quest Resort - April 19
Seattle: UW campus - April 20. 

All participants will receive up to 4 hours of free dental CE, a copy of the 2017 Bree/AMDG Dental Guidelines on Prescribing Opioids for Acute Pain Management and a one-page summary of the guideline. The half-day trainings are free, but registration is required.
